Seismic retrofits underway in Monterey County, California, USA
FCI [part of HBG Constructors, USA] is tackling the seismic upgrading of 12 bridges throughout Monterey County. The project consists of two contracts, one for $2.42 million, and the other for $4.8 million.
The work is similar on both projects, with each bridge location requiring a different scope of work. The work ranges from minor abutment reinforcements to attaching new piling with new bent caps at existing piers.
