Rijswijk, the Netherlands – Brewaba, HBG's German dredging subsidiary, has been awarded three contracts with a combined value in excess of €40 million.
In Bremerhaven, Brewaba is engaged in the removal of approximately one million cubic metres of material in connection with the construction of a container terminal. The client is a consortium of German civil engineering contractors. On behalf of the German company Möbius, Brewaba is also supplying approximately five million cubic metres of sand in partnership with Van Oord ACZ for the expansion of the DASA site in Hamburg. Finally, in Cuxhaven, Brewaba has secured a four-year contract with the local port authority for harbour maintenance. Brewaba will be removing around eight million cubic metres of sludge and sand in connection with this work, which will also involve use of the water injection dredging method.
The trailing suction hopper dredgers HAM 316, HAM 317, Geopotes 14, together with the water injection vessels Jetsed and Njörd, are being deployed on the projects.
