Müller-Altvatter, part of HBG Bau, has started work in Berlin on the construction of a cylindrical marine aquarium and a parking garage. The amenities are part of the DomaQuarée Project, which combines shops, a hotel, two office buildings and an apartment block.
From the underground car park, a circular panorama elevator will lift visitors 25 metres up inside the aquarium, which is the centrepiece of the hotel foyer, to a shopping promenade. Müller-Altvatter is partnering the American company ICM on the construction of the aquarium. Completion is planned for 2003. The contract value is in excess of €19 million.
