The Hague, the Netherlands, 26 January 2017 - BAM International, together with its Australian partner Clough, has completed the marine installation services contract for the Karratha Gas Plant Life Extension Integrated Marine Campaign project in Western Australia for Woodside Energy Limited.
The works comprised project management and installation engineering works associated with replacing existing equipment on two berths, including LNG and LPG marine loading arms, gangways and dolphin fenders. BAM Clough’s activities belonged to a larger project to extend the lifespan of the Karratha gas plant, part of one of the largest ever oil and gas developments in Australia: the North West Shelf project.
This contract was a continuation of the working relationship between client and contractor which dates back to the construction of these very same jetties, dating from the 1980s. Woodside and BAM Clough have a long history of successful collaboration. BAM Clough is a 50/50 joint venture between BAM International and Clough Limited. Established in 1964 the joint venture has successfully delivered sixteen major jetty and near shore marine projects throughout Australia and Papua New Guinea. Recently completed projects include Chevron’s Wheatstone Product Loading Jetty and Tug Berths, INPEX’s Ichthys LNG Jetty and Module Offloading Facility and Fortescue Metals Group’s Anderson Point 5 Wharf.
