BAM Infratechniek acquires Ravesteyn companies

Bunnik, The Netherlands, 6 April 2009 - BAM Infratechniek has completed the acquisition of the Ravesteyn companies in Lopik, The Netherlands, as announced on 6 March last.

When it was founded in 1977, Ravesteyn specialised in welding copper cables and installing and maintaining telephone connections. Since then, Ravesteyn has expanded its service package by civil engineering projects involving fibre optic and coaxial cable technologies. The company has a workforce of around 180. In 2008, Ravesteyn posted a good result with a turnover of approximately €40 million.

With this acquisition, BAM Infratechniek has strengthened its position in the telecom sector, especially with a view to the increasing use of fibre optics in Dutch telecommunications networks in the future.
