Nuttall is currently involved in a major reclamation project at a former coke and coal washery site at Maesteg in South Wales. The site has had a variety of industrial uses over the last 150 years, which has resulted in a legacy of numerous waste tips and areas of contamination, along with substantial mine workings resulting in voids beneath the surface.
The project is part of a substantial redevelopment of the area with funding from the Welsh Development Agency (WDA) in a contract valued at around 13 million euros. Once the reclamation work has been undertaken the site will be redeveloped with the construction of a new school and playing fields. Work is scheduled for completion this autumn.
