The name Brooklands used to be synonymous with speed. Located in Weybridge, Surrey, just to the south-west of London, the world’s first car racing circuit was opened in 1907. The remains of the racetrack now form the backdrop to a prestige business park. And work on this kind of project can move at quite a pace, too, as HBG Construction is demonstrating.
Standing on the banks of the River Wey, a splendid business park is planned, to be known as The Heights. In an earlier phase of development, big names like Procter & Gamble and Sony had already located on the site. HBG Construction is now completing the park with a design-and-build project involving five office buildings and a parking garage. This is very much an upmarket project, as the contract value of almost €80 million testifies.
Four out of the five office buildings are almost identical and stand right on the edge of the river. They vary in height from two to three storeys, and each has a roof terrace.
The fifth, and also the largest, of the buildings is due to be handed over in March 2003.
