The new Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, situated on the south bank of the River Tyne, will become one of the world's leading art centres with five galleries, studios and cinema/lecture hall as well as roof top restaurant overlooking the Tyne.

The 3000 m2 landmark building, due to open in March next year, is the former Baltic Flour Mill dating from the 1950s. The development is managed by HBG Construction as main contractor for Gateshead Metropolitan Borough Concil.
